Privacy Policy

Effective October 13, 2026.

Sintona is made by Mauricio Lopes. This policy explains what the Sintona app handles on your devices and where it goes. In short: everything stays between the devices you choose on your local network. Sintona has no accounts, servers, ads or analytics, and the developer receives no data about you.

What Sintona handles

  • Audio. When you start a sender, Sintona captures the microphone or the system audio you picked and streams it to the device you chose. Audio is encrypted in transit and is never recorded or stored.
  • Keyboard and mouse input. When one device controls another, its key presses, pointer movement, clicks and scrolling are sent to the device being controlled. Text typed on a phone’s keyboard for another device is sent the same way. Sintona doesn’t keep a record of what you type.
  • Clipboard. If clipboard sharing is on, text and images you copy while devices are linked are sent to the linked devices so you can paste them there. On Android 13 and later and on Windows, copies that apps mark as sensitive, such as passwords from a password manager, are not shared. You can turn clipboard sharing off in This device → Clipboard.
  • Device information on your network. To find each other, Sintona devices announce their device name, IP address, device ID, the names of their audio receivers and which Sintona features they offer (with any setup still needed) to other devices on the same local network.
  • Pairing information. To control another device, the two devices are paired with a code you confirm on both. Each device keeps a key that identifies it and a list of the devices you allowed.

Where your data goes

Audio, input and clipboard contents travel only between your own devices on your local network, directly and encrypted. They never pass through a server. Nothing is sent to the developer or to any third party, and Sintona contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting code.

What is stored on your device

Sintona stores its settings, your audio stream setup, the list of paired devices and its device key in its own app storage on each device. This information doesn’t leave the device; only the public half of the device key is shared, so your other devices can recognize it. You can remove a paired device at any time under Allowed devices, and uninstalling Sintona (or clearing its storage) deletes everything it stored.

Android permissions

  • Microphone: to send your microphone’s audio to another device, only while you’re running a microphone sender.
  • Screen capture prompt (system audio): Android uses its screen recording prompt for capturing other apps’ audio. Sintona only captures audio; it never captures images of your screen.
  • Accessibility service (“Sintona remote control”): lets other devices you paired, like a computer or another phone, control this device. It shows a pointer and performs taps, swipes, scrolls and the Back, Home and Recents actions for input sent by a paired device. To type when the Sintona Keyboard isn’t selected, it reads the text field you’re typing into and adds the text. It doesn’t collect, store or share anything else that is on your screen. Sintona asks you to agree to this before you turn it on, and it only works while Let other devices control this one is on.
  • Sintona Keyboard: an optional keyboard that types what a paired device sends. While it’s selected and clipboard sharing is on, what you copy can be shared with the device controlling this one.
  • Notifications and background running: a notification shows whenever Sintona streams audio or accepts remote control, and says so while this device is being controlled.
  • Network access: to find and connect to your other devices on the local network.

Children

Sintona is not directed at children and doesn’t knowingly handle any information about them beyond what is described above.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will ship with the app and be posted at https://sintona.app/privacy, with a new effective date.
